Idea Recommend a synthesizer to use as a main synth/ Controller.

I use logic and the synths that come with it. I also have the virus powercore plug-in and the nexus plug-in. Now I would like to control all these sounds with a hardware synthesizer that is capable of producing its own sounds (so no midi controllers).
I am thinking of a jp-8000 or an novation supernova
Or an analog like a juno 106 or roland super JX-10

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
I would really like a andromeda but that is really really expensive.
I would also like a jupiter 8 but at $5000 that falls into the category gear I would like but will never buy.

My budget is 300-$1000.
Right now I am leaning towards a jp-8000.
Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Thank you

I posted the same question over a gearslutz.com. Check out that thread and you'll get some good recommendations.

Personally, I think I am going to pick up a new DSI Prophet 08, keyboard version. Its a good analog poly synth with lots of knobs and, most importantly, big pitch bend and mod wheels.

I assume you're joking, but just in case the OP doesn't get it, the microKorg is NOT a good synth/controller by any means. It has tiny cheaply made keys, a short keyboard, and little in the way of hands-on control (i.e., knobs, sliders, etc.). You'd be much better off buying a second-hand Roland JP80x0, Nord, Virus, Novation, etc.

SH201 is ok and has nice buttons, faders, and knobs to play with although quite fragile :-), alongside with 2 midi channels which means you can affect the buttons twice in many cases!
