Your country occupies their land. Your country sends settlers to take over Palestinian territory. Your country blockades Palestine and completely destroys their economy. Your country has turned Palestine into a failed state, and for that, your country will continue to endure Palestinian resistance. Do you honestly expect the Palestinian people to sit back while their country and nation are slowly destroyed? Hell no, they are going to fight. The sooner you and your country realize that, the sooner you can address the core problems of Palestinian terrorism and resistance. But unfortunately, I believe your country's leadership, and people, for that matter, couldn't give a rat's ass why Palestinians fight. They didn't just wake up one day and decide, "oh boy I feel like blowing myself up on a bus!" Think about it... |
Prime example for cluelessness.
********: Cause and effect. Please do not confuse. Israel does not control the economy, taxes and the borders of the territories for the sake of controlling (after all this eats up gigantic financial and human resources which would be better used somewhere else!), but for security reasons.
Before you even continue with your quest for "justifications of Plaestinian terror" I urge you to take a look at the Hamas charter, which explicitely calls for Israel's destruction. That is something which is regularly emphasized in speeches, declarations, televion programs, textbooks and acts executed by Hamas. If it's not the occupation its economic restraints, if it nots that its the right of return etc. etc.
As for the economy, you should be aware of the fact that the Palestinians received the highest per capita subsidies (we're talking about billions from the EU) on the planet. Most of this money has been nicely invested in the Galeries Lafayette's women's department stores. Suha Arafat had a great taste after all.
Perhaps it's hard to aknowledge but great parts of the Palestinian misery are owed to their own leadership which prefered to take steal the money or to waste it on a ridiculous amounts of militas and security services, medial incitement or tons of AK-47s.
It's simple: Israel tried land for peace which blew up at the height of this process, namely after Camp David II which basically met all the Palestinian demands. It then took the "disengagement" approach, realizing that there's no reliable partner. The experiment ended in the Gazan fiasco which transformed it into a Hamastan terror base after hints of a cruel civil war (Fatah officials executed publically for example). Then there's the unprovoked kidnapping of Shalit and the never-ending rockets.
You better start waking up from your naive, idealistic dream that Hamas could be appeased with prgamatic concessions. It's not even a conventional "terrorist" organization, which "terrorizes" in order to achieve political goals (think ETA, IRA..). Hamas terrorizes for ideological and religious that are settled in a relam that cannot be reached by rational diplomatic proposals. It's sad, but it's a fact.
