Cool, but I wish you guys brought different DJs in. I mean why does it have to be Steve Bug, or Misstress Barbara, ETC...I like Parking, very chill place, I just wish it featured more big name DJs. Steve Bug is great, but he's there like 3 times a year.

man you love the big names eh? i think steve bug was at parking earlier in the year but no other times..so he was here twice. i don't see why you would be complaning - the guy is a legend and still plays amazing sets. montreal doesn't get enough quality international bookings as it is...ill take it. (even though id rather see him play somewhere else than parking..meh)

That is pretty much why I complain. Actually I'm not complaining about Parking really. They actually do a good job most of the time. My frustration stems from the same fact that you just stated, that Montreal is so lame in terms of how few big names it brings in.
Sorry I'm just pretty pissed how there's nothing good on NYE, tbh with you.

Is it wrong to ask a DJ to spin a tune if it's theirs?

less cheese and acts that were relevant 3 years ago but no longer?
seriously...other than the parking and piknik bookings on that list, it is all fucking cheesy shit.
i would not diss parking, they are the only actual club in this town that books decent international guests.
i don't fucking understand how someone would actually pay cedric gervais to play a party lol.
Whether it's electro, house or trance DJs. Here in Montreal we like to bring in the same DJs on rotation throughout the year. It's not that bad of a system if you like all kinds of music! Often you have to choose between events because you have for example a good trance DJ playing at the same time as a house DJ in different venues on the same nights!! Knowing they'll come back during the year makes the choice less stressful
And I love Steve Bug. His set at the SAT for one of I Love Neon's NYE parties a few years back was great!!

Bug was #@!#$@!# sick last time. I will definitely be there again!
Of the few I have heard... he is BY FAR the best I have heard all year.

I guess you have never heard him drop "Let's Take Drugs" in a set.
