After re-installing 3 times rolling back drivers surfing endless tech forums running anti virus crap and generally having a stress my problems are over.

yikes you're having a lot of issues with your new card have you tried calling into the manufac? or forum support?

yes have emailed ok can anyone tell me is it poss to lock up midi in windows

Ok well I bought an outboard soundcard with midi support but forgot to take off old midi drivers. The midi drivers got confused and I got no midi. All I did was disable old midi device in system device manager and do a system restore to before the new soundcard install. Then re-installed the rivers for new sound card
