Review: Carlos Fauvrelle @ Hotel
So after massive win at Airwave @ Vola lounge, I was in mood for some house music.
Welcome, Carlos Fauvrelle! Got in around 1145 with Veronica and Vince after massive headache trying to find a parking spot (which we ended up parking at the lot right beside Hotel. lol)
First step in and I can hear the bestial sound of house that just stirred something in my soul. Was nursing a massive headache all day so wanted to take easy, but D Unity played a decent tech house ish set.
First 90mins of Fauvrelle was freaking awesome. Didnt wanted to dance, but the beats were just hypnotic to get me to move my butt a little. Slamming tech = epic win. Slowed down and got a little too repetitive around 3 but still delivered a very good set. Very little tribal tech which is disappointing, probably due to Toronto being a little too much in love with techno/tech house right now. Gotta play to the crowd.

Was wanting more of a chilling night after that lovely dose of trance the night before. This was the first time I've seen Carlos Fauvrelle, and BOY did I enjoy it! The techy house with some tribal here and there is exactly what I was in the mood for! Banging tunes all night long!! D-Unity did a great job to set the mood before Carlos' set. BTW, when Carlos was playing his last track, the lights were being turned on...we were leaving at that point anyways, but I thought Manzone and Strong were supposed to be on after him?? Then again it had emptied out quite a bit by that time of the night, I suppose everyone was tired from all the New Years festivities!
Anyways, so nice to see some familiar faces and a couple new ones too! A perfect way to end NYE/NYD!

Carlos Fauvrelle killed it at Hotel. Very good track selection, mixing and programming. I was surprised seeing someone so young have so much skill.
Only complaint of the night was the crowd was too tame for an NYD party. Maybe I was expecting too much because of the madness I experienced at Boa/270 and Lawler NYDs of years past.
Fun times!

You call what Fauvrelle was playing "chill"? Come on!
Maybe at the beginning, but he was banging it out for 3/4 of his set.

I think she's saying she WANTED more of a "chill" night...
hahaha, no he definitely wasn't chill! But I'd say the combination of a smaller and darker venue, as well as it not being rammed was more what I was referring to being perfect for how I was feeling. I definitely was looking forward to some tech-house and tribal after dancing to trance all night long on NYE! And like jon jon said, I wasn't really in a "huge party" kind of mood when I was leaving my house (after watching the Kitchen Nightmares marathon on Food network all day long lol) but that VERY quickly changed.
I'd definitely hit up this venue again, I really enjoyed it!

Yup -- I'm really glad I mustered up the energy to go to this!

First time at hotel, it's a nice venue. D-unity played some nice stuff. Carlos Fauvrelle played really well, nice transitions, flow and kept the energy going most of the set.
And yes Jay you looked ruined lol.
