Confused Has something like this happened to you?

This is something that happened to me today, I was cruising with my friend listening to trance of course
We were talking about some real good trance tunes and then i mentioned "Fire&ice - Souvenir de chine" and he hadn't heard it. So we listened to it (cause I had it on a cd in my car) I pushed the volume bar up to it's highest, then to the thing that happened you see I drive very carefully and have never had a driving accident, but when I was listening to the track i stopped at a red traffic light, and then it happened I started driving for no reason and a car nearly crashed on my side ... phew I was in a shock but relieved.

The point of this thread is the question has anything similar to this happened to you related to you being listening to trance and therefore your mind focusing on the music?

please excuse my english :P

Well first off...thats really bad and I can see it happening to anyone who listens to trance easily. When people listen to trance (I myself too)...their mind really tends to drift and focus in on the music. I can see you doing this w/ 'souvenier de chine' as it is a tune that just makes your mind drift off. This however is a very bad thing when you are driving because you are supposed to have your utmost attention on the road.

It's all right to listen to trance while driving, it's just that you have to not let your mind drift as much as when you are listening at home or anywhere else and pay a lot of attention on the road. Running a red light can easily kill you or someone else...just be more careful thats all.

Stuff like this really hasn't happened to me, I don't have my license yet but I know when I do I myself have to be careful because I tend to not pay attention to anything else when I listen to trance.

Yes it is really bad and I have learned my lesson =)

When I think of it if the car would have crashed on me and the driver would ask me why this happened, then it would be really hard to explain why I stopped at a red light for a few seconds but started driving again without the lights switching, I mean normally when people cross a road on a red light, they don't stop like I did
And the majority of people doesn't really understand trance. So I guess that he wouldn't look at that explination as a valid one

cheers

I honestly can't do too many things while listening to trance...if its homework, I have to turn the music off. It sucks...hopefully I won't kill myself while driving when I get my car.

I court myself driving on the freeway going about 150 km/h listening to trance with my eyes closed for a few secs....
You got to concentrate on you driving and not to the music.

I like this way of putting it...with the wording 'easily'... anyhow, that has nothing to do with my post though. Anyhow, yes, when I first started driving, music was very distracting to me because I couldn't concentrate on my driving. So I just made sure no one played music in my car. Now that I've been driving for a very long time, I've figured out somehow how to channel trance listening into improving my driving. It makes me more patient and I cannot drive as patiently without it. Lessens road rage, or the feelings of nervousness when you get behind a slow car and can't pass out of the lane, or anger at annoying lights. The only thing I have to watch out for is trance making me drive faster than I should. Otherwise, it's definitely the way to go...I start biting my nails feverishly without it and that's really a bad habit that causes unsafe driving. Each to his/her own...

Driving and trancing is very dangerous indeed. If I hear one of my fav. trx while i'm cruising, i'll get lost in the tunes and start to veer off.. It isn't good. I cut off a schoolbus once and got an earful from his horn...eep

so yea ...i guess i can say that trance is quite inducive(if there is such a word).

Brother, I'm glad you live in Iceland. You damn trancemaniacs out there on the road might get me killed! HA!

Just kidding champ, I do this sort-of thing on the high way all the time. Thankfully, they've recently installed rumble strip all along the shoulder, so if I do drift away, I am interupted by a loud "WOMP WOMP WOMP" noise. Hey, my tax dollars gotta go somewhere.
