Though z3ta has a lot more functionality than Sylenth1, where Sylenth1 shines more than z3ta is that it has 2 individual parts. This means that you can essentially create 2 completely different sounds and layer them together to create what most people know as a "performance" patch, making it work just like a JP-80x0. z3ta is great because it does have 6 oscillators, but layering 2 parts is an effect that it simply can't emulate. That doesn't necessarily make Sylenth1 "better", but it is something that makes it different from z3ta.

It's true that Sylenth1 has 2 parts, but you can essentially achieve the same effect (and then some) with Z3TA+ by running its two filters in parallel and routing any combination of its 6 oscillators to either filter, whereas with Sylenth1, you are locked into 2 dedicated oscillators per part. Also, with Sylenth1, you are limited to one envelope generator per part (shared by each part's oscillator), whereas you have complete freedom to route any of Z3TA+'s EGs to any of its oscillators, thereby giving you WAY more flexibility than Sylenth1 could ever hope to achieve. I'd have to say that the only strengths that Sylenth1 has are its simplicity and its sound - it does sound pretty damn good and there's a lot to be said for that. But, I still prefer the sound of Z3TA+ (and its filters).
Actually, I'll add one more small plus in the Sylenth1 column - its GUI is MUCH nicer IMO than Z3TA+'s factory GUI, but there are some decent skins out there for Z3TA+ that are much better than the horrid stock one.
