maybe its the tempo. make sure its not set to 100%.

i bought it new must have been about 3-4 years ago but haven't used it alot, still prefere the feel of vinyl! A sensor under the jog wheel makes sense, its as if it thinks someones got their finger on it all the time.

Did ur friend get his repaired or just chucked it?

CDJs are crap. There is another board member who lost two of his and only has his third left.

It sounds like a laser/laser-motor problem for him.
