Soemone is asking me for trance recommendations...
...and he's a relative newb to the genre. He knows some of the larger hits that have had major commercial success (Sandstorm, As the Rush comes, etc.) and is pushing for more tunes in the same vein. Given his novelty to the genre, I'd say anything from the early Magik series through the re-re-re-emergence of electro (2005 or so, right?) should be fair game.
I've got several ideas myself, but I'd like to hear anyone's recommendations. So, perhaps I'm asking for a recollection thread of some of the biggest tunes over that time span?

Someone is asking you for trance recommendations, so you're making a thread asking for trance recommendations. Brilliant!
Quick, someone else make a thread asking for trance recommendations for treeboo, who needs trance recommendations for his friend!
We can get a chain going...

I've got several songs in mind but I'm sure there are dozens if not hundreds of songs I've missed or forgotten. I'm hoping someone else can shed some light

I don't get this fixation with 'the biggest tunes'.

You can thank Armin and his 'tune of the week' for that

I think the idea here is to expose someone to a genre. If you were trying to expose someone to rock, would you give them Led Zeppelin or some regional hit wonder?
Is this really that odd of a request?

You're comparing Led Zeppelin to the commercially successful Trance artists now?
I'd say your buddy will enjoy any of the Tiesto/Armin/PvD/Markus Schulz mixes and compilations.

That comparison isn't apt if we want to discuss the "faces" of a genre?
I'm looking for something a bit more specific than you've given, but of course I'm happy to do the digging myself. Just hoping the old forum could provide a shortcut or two...
