King How to properly set your tone arm weight...

Hey I thought I'd post a tutorial on my blog since this is something I see done improperly all the time. Too much weight causes un-due wear on your vinyl.
Anyways check it out http://JUNGLISTMANIFESTO.BLOGSPOT.COM

Should I delete and repost? or double post? This was more related to not putting too much wear on your vinyl, and for ripping purposes then DJing anyways. Any help is appreciated.

Set the weight of the tone arm so it balances in the air not moving up or down with skating to zero (unless of course it causes it to move to the side because the decks are at an angle). Twist the numbered disk in front of the weight to zero, you have now calibrated the weight.

Your cartridges will be rated up to a certain weight level but around 3 should be a good start, adjust more if still skipping up to around 5 grams.

Tone arm height will depend on the cartridge you use, concorde style use no height adjustment etc
