Meh... nothing new that I really need.

I finally figured out the whole warp marker thing to make the DJing aspect of it work. Trouble is, you have to put them in for EVERY FUCKING TRACK that you want to use in a set. None the less, its better for mashups than Acid is.

Yeah but it takes as long to warp a track as it does to beatmatch. PM me if you need tips.

What I do like about the warp feature, is that I had old tracks that had a variable tempo to them, which made them too risky too mix live. Alot of PvDs older productions had this problem which was why I could never put Autumn in a mix. With the warp feature, this can fix that problem.

Same with importing rock songs to live remix that have a 4/4 structure, but dont quite conform to a rigid EDM beat.

I've mostly been reading the Ableton Live 7 Power book by Jon Margulies to get a better grasp of the program.

Is that in the power book?

I've got the same problem, but haven't really been able to find anything that helps with the problem of tempo changes mid track

got a few old tracks that were ripped from vinyl that i would love to use but cant, for that reason

What I do is set markers after every 32 bars, and place them right down to the sample right before the waveform signature of the kick. If the song has a varying tempo, I set them after every two bars or every bar until the markers dont need adjustment. This may sound confusing and its better if I showed it... but its easy once you get it.

Something I've been toying around with is listening to the breakdowns of some of the trance songs at 90-105bpm. After setting the warp markers, change the setting from "beats" to "re-pitch" so it slows it down just like a vinyl. In that respect, it sounds EXACTLY like it would if pitched down on a turntable, quite honestly Acid Pro and the CDJs can't emulate the sound quality as well.

If you have it on your hard drive, load Giuseppe Ottaviani - Linking People (original mix), pitch it down to 105bpm and listen to the breakdown.

I liked it more back when POTD2 came out. As far as trance in general, only about 5% of it ever makes it to my purchase bin on itunes/beatport

As far as the song I was referring to, I used it to make a sort of music video of the girl that got me into parachuting:
