[amazonian narcostep] JAMAZON (sketch)

this is a little sketch of a track im working on called JAMAZON. its in my drugged-up dubbed-up junglejazz stylee.

not keen personally on the little spacey pad thing i have so far. in the final version there will be a lot more improvisation and modulation in the various melodic strains. I think it needs something twangy, like recorded guitar chinks

I really like the vibe of this. All it's lacking (imo) is a bit happening over the top... maybe some crisp hats or some sort of quirky melody (you mentioned some guitar, I can see that). Keep working.

Also, please to be sharing your excellent percussion samples?

This is great overall. It could actually work for the eclectic DJ as an atmosphere change up. Musically I like the percussions and the mid frequency tango melody, nice vibe here. The bass is coool. The spacey pad is a bit distant in the mix and I dont know if it improves the vibe set by the rest of the parts, maybe conflicts. Its like you have this very earthy, lively, yet chilled atmosphere with the other parts and then this decaying wasteland walks into the party slithering about. I do see the vision there, and that contrast might actually work for the drugged out wandering mind, but you might be able to work something else in that direct fits the vibe set by the rest. If you keep it, i'd just bring it up a bit more into the mix. Agree on the top end as mentioned ...something clangy and brighter might do the top line some good. I do some drugged out stuff as well, a lot of potential here.

This is fantastic. You are a fucking solid producer, I've spent a lot of time streaming stuff off your myspace.

Keep it up!

edit: Also, wanted to ask what do you use for your production? I'm assuming you use mostly analog (sounds like it to me at least) but I'm probably wrong.
