I can sum my thoughts on windows 7 pretty easy : Looks like vista, works as good as XP...

all good for office work, although I had not the chance to do music on the computer I had installed the beta so far...so...will see, if anyone cares, I will get back here once I try ableton under 7s

Would not touch beta versions at all it's not worth it in my opinion. Windows is bad enough.

You're kinda right, but if you have one more computer (you don't rely on to do your work/school stuff) then what's the problem in trying it?
