hey just wondering what ur views are on this. i've reached my highest ever d/l speeds..8kb/s (yes im 56k still) its gr8 4 resuming but now and again when i need 2 reconnect (because ntl only connects u 4 2 hrs before needing 2 reconnect) it sometimes resets the d/lds which as u can imagine is very frustrating. how do u get on with go!zilla and are there any better alternatives as resumable download programs..i notice swampers link 2 go!zilla on the music singles/live sets has gone....

Swamper recommends ReGet now... i have used this with no problem and is what i use over GoZilla! now. go to the videos download page and you will see a link to it.

hey, bringing back this thread.

i tried to download a video today on my new ADSL connection. speed was at 50k/sec which isn't too bad. it dropped within a few minutes to 8k though. then stopped altogether, with 10 hours remaining for the PVD video.

i know it isn't my connection because i went to download.com and got 150k/sec

so, i decided to use swampers reccomended program, reget, so i could resume the download.

i installed it, and it installs a bunch of spyware on my computer, including that horrible onflow thing.

so, i went and downloaded ad-aware and used it to clean my system. unfortunately, reget will no longer function, those bastard programmers probably made the reget download go through the onflow dlls, so that it wouldn't function if you removed onflow.

so, problem is, i want to download things from this site, i want to do it fairly and not piss of swamper with a multiple connection downloaded like FlashGet or something, and i don't want any adware or spyware installed on my computer.

is there any way to satisfy these requirements?

well.. without downloading any other programs, or reinstalling reget..

i just went and clicked save as, so no resuming.

got 49.9Mb, and the download said complete.

this is about a 6th of the file! how can i resume?

anyone else use flashget?? that's what I got for my downloads... I really like the interface for it... it's pretty simple...
