I will be getting a Xone 4d soon and was wondering if the new 15" 2.53GHz is powerful enough to handle the Xone 4d using Ableton live?

i run my 3d on a 2.0ghz macbook. and 2nd, i don't think the mixer does anything but send messages to and from your computer? what you should be asking is how the macbook will run ableton, and the answer to that is, perfectly fine
if i can play an 80 track session on a macbook then you can prob play a 200 track session

lol
The 4D is basically a nice looking soundcard as far as the laptop is concerned, so it will be fine. And as mentioned previously, it's just the laptop running Ableton which is the query. To be honest, if you're getting a Macbook Pro I'm suprised you even had to ask that question.

Why do you need a mac? Ableton will run just fine on a pc. Are you needing something mac-only like Logic?

I dont the the 2.53 is worth it for ableton. Even with logic 8 studio i dont think its worth it.
2.4 @ 3mb cache vs 2.53 @ 6mb cache
There is more cache but i havent maxed out my macbook pro yet and i have the 2.4.
Macs are easy to use... just click on buttons and youll get it eventually.

Because I will be using it for playing live, carrying around a pc would be a hassle. And its time to buy a new computer too, my pc is old and cant handle it anymore lol
