New 'Jimpy' Track - Free Download

Hi All,

Some of you may remember my 'Talkin' track on Sasha Global Underground 13, 'Feeling Good' on Paul van Dyk's Politics of Dancing and also some of my other music, which made it's way on to various compilations. For the last few years I decided to take time out from music production, but recently started fiddling around with Ableton Live.

Below is a link to my new track called 'You Wanna Dance' which is completely free to download! The website it is available from was recently set up to give new music an outlet for constructive feedback. Even if you don't like my track, you may well find some other lovely gems on the site.

Keep on chuggin... Jimpy x :-)

i remember talkin, i still love that track, well atleast the tarrentella & redanka mix which sasha played, don't remember the original actually. anyhow, i'm quite liking this track, the almost acidy bassline is a nice touch, the fills are cool and the use of the sax is tastefully done. however, i think it needs some eqing work on the percussion, they stand out a bit to raw. other than that, this is banging

Hey Montana,

Thanks very much for your feedback and nice comments. I guess the 'rawness' you talk of is a little bit in the style I tend to do things. I love sharp, prominant open hat's and claps as from my experience in clubs often if you have a solid bottom line and crisp top then it gives anyone on the dance floor something really solid to latch on to. I often find some tracks have their percussion mixed down to far into the rest of the sounds, which may sound ok on a nice hi-fi, but in a club you can lose elements.

Maybe I am waffling shit lol, but I do certainly take your feedback on board :-)

I'm going to be starting another mix of it shorty, so will post it when ready.

All the best,

Jimpy x

Talkin (Tarrantella vs Redanka remix) is one of my favourite tracks off GU13. Still play it!

I remember that track had a vocalist right? What was her name again? I remember GU13 very well because BT had about 103 tracks on it.

A gem of a track, love the structure the way the bassline builds, I actually like the percussion suits this track.

A lot better than most of the progressive stuff coming out at the mo.

Wonder if Sasha or Diggers would play this or if its their kinda sound these days, worth a shot!
