I realize there is already a thread about this exact same topic right now, I was just reading it, and the people touched on this specific issue in it, but I just wanted to re-ask it because it's more trivial than the deeper thought question the other thread focused on. I've thought about this/talked to other ppl about it too and found that certain races tend towards certain races, at least a noticable amount of the time (i.e., not an exclusive 'rule') but what it seems like is, white people tend to 'usually' like white people or Asian people...why is this? What other races tend towards which, and why? Personal experience welcome, like what people you tend to like...

I try not to make a differentiation.... i've had crushes on (without being racist)...
white, black, brown, oriental, and mexican girls.
..Just that not many had the same feelings.

many, not all, ppl. consciously or unconsciously do have racial preferences...back when i was in HS, i remember that most of the time ppl. would date within their own race...it wasn't actually racist, because every1 was friends with every1 else, kinda, but sumhow it "turned out" like that...at least at my HS

i can only speak from personal experience, so i can tell you that most asian people, myself included, generally go for other asians. people have their reasons, mostly its to keep the culture alive though. also, older chinese parents are generally pretty racist, so a lot of us were brought up with the idea that white people are "foreign devils" (gwai-lo). that's just one example.

but things are changing. most of the younger, more whitewashed kids these days go for white guys. so you see, it all depends on upbringing.

its not a racist thing though. like, its not like i hate other races or anything. i'd just prefer to carry on my hertiage.

It shouldn't really matter who people should date, as long as it makes them happy. I agree with Mr. Poopyhead, a lot of asians stick to their own kind but the newer generations growing up are starting to date out of their race. personally, I don't mind dating 'white' girls or whatever. I come from an interacial family(Asian/Jap/White)so I don't really have a problem with it.

personally, i was brought up in a multiracial society in the former USSR. i am a quater white and the rest asian. my parents, even tho they grew up in russia, are holding on tight to their asian roots. me, on the other hand, i tend to be pulled more to white folk. i've had friends from all kinds of backgrounds tho (asian, white, latino, black, you name it).
i guess in the end, i dont really care about the race, its what's inside that matters (yes, i know, its a cheesy line)

i go through phases of what kind of men i am attracted to. Last month, it was Puerto Ricans. But in the grand scheme of things, race has very little to do with it.
