I have always mixed my own cd's on the computer, and just recently taught myself to mix live using pc programs or cd -> cd. Don't worry too much - I'm a purist, and do all the beat matching myself. Anyhow, I always made mixed disks, and was always giving away the newest mix. A friend of mine sent one to a promotion for a 2 day party that Kokanee is hosting this summer in B.C. To make a long story short - they want me to enter the 'sound off' in Banff this Saturday. The guy is even going to get cd mixers to accomodate me since I don't have any actual vinyl (I know shame on me - I'm poor - don't flame plz). Anyways, I have to put together a set, and play against other dj's this Saturday. I was thinking of something like this to accomodate a variety of people:
(45 mins)
Solar Stone - Solarcoaster
Andaine - Summer Calling
Blank & Jones - Desire (4 Strings mix)
Madelyne - Beautiful Child (Hiver & Hammer Mix)
Slipstream - Into Other Worlds
Romanthaly's Night Vision - Never Fuck (Late Night Mix)
Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto Mix)
Funk Einsatz - Punk (F.C. mix)
How do you think the set will go over for non trance heads? I want to kick the tar out of the other dj's, and would love to perform for thousands and thousands in Creston B.C. this summer. Sorry if I'm posting useless information here, I just am so jammed about getting to compete that I can't think about anything other then mixing shit up in Banff on Saturday Night. Maybe I'll even see some of you out in B.C.

Sweet dude!!!!
Tracklist looks good.
F.C. mix...that would be the original...? I would throw it in the middle of the mix rather than the end.
Solarcoaster is the perfect opener...good pick!
What program do you use to mix when you do it on the PC???

program
For mixing live, pcdj blue. For mixing a cd that sounds flawless, multiquencer is fucking gold. You can set equalizer volumes, add unlimited tracks, adjust volume bands to the millionth of a second, change pitch without changing speed (and vise-versa), zoom in to second clips to match beats perfectly, and take your time to make production quality mixes. I haven't found a better program in over 3 years. I prolly will end with Dreamland - and put Punk in the middle. Maybe even drop the harder Maurice - Feline or Dutch Force Deadline (Durango 95 remix) - absolute floor killers.
-thanks all for advice. if you live in Banff, come

i think if you put ferry corsten in the middle u can also put an harder track in the followingand the calm down again (if i can say so)
I dunno drop sumthin hardhouse Dj Hein - Energetic Rhythm (Donkey Rollers Remix) or something from dj isaac. If that is too hard u can replace it by dumonde - god music or sumthing else hardtrance.
I would also replace Paul Oakenfold by Lexicon 4 - Reach Me (Original or Svenson & gielen Remix)
