Haven't listened yet but I saw that speedy J has done some stuff in surround sound: http://www.umfeld.tv/

Anybody listened? + Are there any other electronic albums in surround sound out there?

There are clubs with surround sound; apparently they are are absolutely out of this world. Think of the difference between 2.1 and 5.1 when you're watching a DVD at home.

ive been thinking about it alot the last 14 years hense the reason of my comment, surround is really REALLY a bad format. the sound is compressed to fit on the DVD together with the moviefile. it sounds like weak 128kbit mp3 and badly adjusted overkill subwoofers and tiny speakers with no midbass at all. its just bass and treble + vocals under your TV. terrible man terrible. I dont believe the surround at clubs hype either.

Maybe someday when blueray is standard!

the best way to do surround is do it yourself. i had a party at my house and the guy that brought the stereo had to leave by 2am, at which time my other friend would bring his stereo to take over, but the first guy ended up not having to leave at 2am, so we had 2 stereos, 4 cd decks, 2 mixers. so we put a picnic table with dj setup and stereo on one end of the room and a dj setup with stereo on the other and the 2 djs would play at the same time beatmatched together. 1 guy was the main dj and the other would overlay the more static repetitve stuff over it. it was really cool and im looking forward to doing it again soon.

also related: The Flaming Lips did an experiment on one album where the album is broken up into multiple cds that you are supposed to hit play on each cd player at the same time. they had a concert where they used a bunch of cars and used the car stereos in each one. wouldve loved to witness that one. heh.
