Electronics and water don't mix well. The worst thing you can do in this type of situation is to try and turn the phone on while it's still wet.
I've had surprisingly good luck with cell phones surviving water. I accidentally left a phone in a snow bank last year, when my gf found it in the spring it had dried out and worked perfectly.
Your best bet now would be to disassemble the phone and leave it that way for a while to let any residual moisture evaporate. If that fails you may be s.o.l.
Good luck

"Even me?" she said.
I thought, "Oh right, if I categorically eliminate all other people, it's just me and her. She'd like that.
"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.
