2000 and One - Heritage [100% Pure]

Artist album from 2000 and One. Some proper house music in this.

https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html...155966/Heritage

Burnin Dub, Honey Bush, Wan Poku Moro all do the business for me.

I was looking forward to this, but I was disappointed by the end result.

Some of the vocals he uses are cheesy as hell.

Yeah I concede they are a bit cheesy, but I dig what he's doing...sort of blending old school house with a little bit o techno.

Kreon and Agnes (and others) are using old school house vibes that are pretty cool imo. I'll have to check these out.

Not bad, not spectacular. I think there were a couple I liked but nothing special.

dunno. disappointing for me given other stuff he's produced/remixed, and a bit underproduced aswell.

Definitely a clubby vibe going on here. Liked some of the tracks like Burning Dub, Spanish Fly, Dat Na Poku and such...crap, that's like half the album! But honestly I think these tracks would have benefited a lot more from EP releases. This is an album to bring with you to the club, not one to chill out to on your home system. With that said, as an album this is kind of below-average. But like I said, I think the tracks, some of which are quite solid, would have found a better home on an EP rather than a full-length. And yea, some of the vocals are so meeeh. Almost feels like they were pre-loaded samples that came with whatever software/hardware/sample pack he was using to produce this.

I'm guessing you're not a big fan of the old school chicago sound.

I love this.

But don't you guys think this is sort of a lame attempt at an artist album? Dunno, just doesn't feel like an album to me. But I guess if the tracks are solid it doesn't really matter.
