I was looking at the Roland VP550 Vocal Designer (hardware) but I was wondering what the soft side had to offer. The Roland is pretty dadgum pricey. Any good softies that can hold a candle to this piece?

I dont use vocoders that much but I really rate this simple but well designed one from TAL http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_TAL-Vocoder

Any more suggestions?!
Sugar Bytes Robotronic - It's not particularly intelligible though, from my experience. Virsyn Matrix is one of the best ones, but at that price it's probably cheaper to get a Korg hardware synth (awesome vocoders).

I'm actually very impressed with TAL - this is probably the clearest vocoder I've heard
