Cubase 5: What do you think?

Upgraded last night. interface looks better, new drumtools are fun to play with, mediabay seems to work better, but i did not discover any major WOWs yet.....

C4 projects loaded without any issues, though i had 1 crash in a 3 hour session.

then you must have missed variaudio...

i think this will be an awesome upgrade for me, but i won't be doing it for some time. after my horrible experience with being an early adopter of cubase 4, i'm too paranoid to upgrade right now. i'm planning on upgrading my entire computer and going completely 64bit in about 4 months or so, when things have settled down.

i am disappointed steinberg didn't do a big interface overhaul though. i think there is a lot of room for improvement, in that regard.

I might have missed that indeed, as i don't work much with loops (only loops i use sometimes are triggered from NEXUS2)

I've played with those 2 of the 3 new beat tools
Loopmash only seems to play the included loops, it's not like a nextgen recycle to load your own (or I didn't find that yet)

Groove agent One is a SW MPC working with everything that appears in mediabay

i still need to play with Beat It!

Cant wait to run Cubase 5 when Windows 7 comes out.

I really hope those beatmaking tools are as good as they seem, cause im bored of importing wav samples into the project.

be sure to update us as often as you can with your reflections on the new version.

Thinking about getting the update but haven't decided on when. The beat-tools sure looks sweet tho, finally I might be able to ditch Reason for good
