Yes yes, it was a joke. I've actually been following pretty closely. I think the Russians are justifying it because nationals living in Georgia have been targeted recently. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds, especially at a time when the whole world is trying to come together (to a certain degree) in Beijing.

It was a calculated move to do it during the olympics imo... Most of the world is focused on the games while Russia begins its motions to put itself back on the world stage as one of the leading actors and put a firm end to western leaning in the old Soviet bloc.
