Okay, I went ahead and took a look at my copy (yes, I bought an actual copy from a store, and paid way too much money, at that), and everything on my copy seems consistent with the features you mentioned.
-The cover image is low resolution, and looks like it was printed off some guy's computer.
-I'm not sure what kind of quality you'd expect for the paper, but it seems professional enough to me, and has a thicker texture to it. The paper is also folded up four ways, rather than bound in order to create pages, so take a look at that.
-The backing sleeve is right-side up, but as you said, the fact that yours wasn't doesn't really indicate anything.
-The printed label on the CD does not fully meet the edge, and there is the same amount of space between the edge of the label and edge of the CD that you described.
-The data side of the CD doesn't have any goldish tint whatsoever.
So, all things considered, I'm pretty sure you have an official copy.
