producing vs mixing

i just want to get the difference straight...producers are those who actaully make new songs...and mixers are ones who just play the tracks produced by others correct?

i think you'll get very much more higher by producing, than mixing! but mixing is somewhere to start(like me), then you always know the newest tracks and such things. but if you've become famous only by dj'ing, you have big luck in your life...but when i'll get older, and enough money to start with, i'm gonna start producing trance music!

That is correct though nowadays almost all "big-name" DJs are producers as well.

it is alot easier to become a well known DJ after you have produced a few tracks. this way you build your name up in the music scene, and then people will want to hear you DJ.
