Young Parisians - Jump the next train => meaning lyrics?? Is this about suicide?
Can anybody tell me what the meaning is of the lyrics in the song "Jump the next train" by Young Parisians. You probably know this in the KvA remix, but here is more chillout version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYKW_yLWJYE
The lyrics are:
--
Either way it's suicide
Cars drive through in real time
You choose the stars in blue and white
I love you till I'm dead inside
Plastic eyes look milky white
And the violence makes things hard to hide
Our pale faces sink in time
Either way it's suicide
I'm gonna jump the next train
Gonna jump on a plane
Take a ticket to the other side
Jump the next train
Jump the next train
Touch till hot times smack me up
And cigarettes taste good tonight
Modern girl it's time to go
Either way I'll let you know
We wake up to a polaroid
And the blank eyes stare at something new
Little unit don't let go
All I really want is you
--
Is this about suicide (the other side) or is this about breaking up a relationship (jump the next train in the sense of moving on in life to a new relationship). Anybody can tell. These lyrics confuse me.

I think it's more a depiction of society, a society with people that the person actually loves, but now it's time for a change, time to leave all that.
If it was about suicide, it would be blatantly obvious.

I think it's about climbing aboard a train, then hiding in the toilets so you miss the train conductor and don't have to pay.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand what you mean. A change towards what?
I actually thought it was either about suicide or him breaking up with a girl, but still the lyrics don't seem to make much sense to me. Anybody understands them better?

It is a protest song about the Irish situation.
Jump the next train, jump on a plane, take a ticket to the other side obviously means he wants to leave the North and go to the Republic, otherwise its 'suicide', ie dangerous because of the violence.
"modern girl its time to go" - the new generation can change and resolve their differences.
"wake up to a polaroid" - wake up and see the picture that the violence isn't serving any purpose
"blank eyes stare at something new" - blank eyes, of someone who was killed in the violence
Jeez Dance123 - how insensitive do you want to be? Is what is happening in Ireland so unimportant to you that you think an obvious song about it is about suicide? Hwo to you think that makes the relatives of victims of the violence feel? Have you no compassion?
Let me guess, you think "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is about having to go back to work the next day?

What do the lyrics have to do with the Irish situation? Is this for real?

This song is Ben Lost's tribute to The Pogues.
We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again
(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)
I'd like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane
