My First Set -- Need Help

Hey there, I'll be performing my first set at a club soon. I am fairly comfortable with using Pioneer CDJ-1000's. I just have two questions.

1. I have never used a booth monitor to DJ with, most of the times I play at private parties and house parties and I'll just use the headphones with both decks cued and beatmatch that way without having a stereo split. If I want to use my headphones at a club, is it common practice to turn down the volume of the booth monitor?

2. Is the booth monitor just like any other speaker in the club or can I actually listen to my cues, i.e: have both decks cued up like I would in my headphones to beatmatch?

Thanks guys, this would really mean a lot to me. Sorry for the newb questions.

1. Do whatever makes you comfortable. Turn the booth down and mix in headphones, or use it to mix.

2. Booth monitor is master channel, it's just a shorter run so the delay isn't as bad as the main speakers. It will be more in time with what the output of each channel is.

Thanks buddy, so in other words the booth monitor is exactly the same as the other speakers only closer so that there is little delay correct?
