[Chill/Jazz/Deep House] The Snark - Speakeasy

01. Truby Trio – Donaueschingen
02. Fish Go Deep – Set The Night
03. Fish Go Deep – The Jazz
04. Fish Go Deep – Mood Swing
05. Martinez – Fuji
06. Gabriel Black – Resolutions (B-Side Dub)
07. Physics – Don’t Deny Me Love
08. Fish Go Deep – Flying Funk
09. Frankman – I Feel Free
10. Bent – Always (Ashley Beedle’s Mahavishnu Remix)

Right click, save as...

This set was basically an excuse to experiment with some of the tracks I found while searching through this thread. So, not the typical prog/tech fare from me. Basically, no pre-planning... just giving it a go. Oh, and it finishes with Ashley Beedle's remix of Bent's "Always" because it's one of my favorite tracks ever and I've never made a set in which it would fit. It's the shakiest transition in the whole set, but I doubt it will really offend.

Also, this set starts at 90 bpm and ends up at 125.

Check this out if you like: jazzy sounds, piano riffs, sax, soulful vocals, funky basslines, relaxing soundscapes.

Also, special thanks to the people in the aforementioned thread for their suggestions when I was looking for jazzy tracks... specifically, lücid and montana since this set basically spawned from their suggestions.

I haven't even made my way all the way through the suggestions from others yet... but I got my power back at the start of the weekend after it being out for almost a week in aftermath caused by hurricane Ike, so I was really itching to start mixing and messing with this.

Checking. Will let you know

Off topic: If you haven't heard of Xploding Plastix, I'm sure you'd like. Check out their album "Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents."

My fave is Sports, Not Heavy Crime, but here's a link to Funnybones and Lazylegs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0_R...feature=related

Also, Skalpel. They're Polish. Amazing stuff. This tune slows my blood. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6E_...feature=related

Also attempt to grab any Single Cell Orchestra stuff you can find.

Sorry. This thread reminded me I never posted in the aforementioned one in MD, not stealing your thunder!

On topic: I'm excited to get some new stuff. Not heard of Fish Go Deep.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! This track was a bit too crazy on the snare drum for me... it was kinda distracting. But I can tell that I should check out other tracks by this artist.

Pretty neat... not really what I would consider to be "jazzy" in the same way as the stuff in this mix, but still a cool downtempo track. Could probably work it pretty well into a dubstep set. Neat percs, especially.

No problem at all, I appreciate the bump. However, feel free to post more suggestions in the other thread... it's still going strong and I'm loving the shit outta that thread.

Yeah, I hadn't heard of Fish Go Deep until now and I obviously liked them a lot. Had to use them several times in here, lol.

Appreciate the listen, and let me know what you think!
