Mindstate/Creativity

In what mindstate or time of day has your best productions/creations come to life?

For myself, usually Late at Night, when everyone is asleep, this is when my greatest ideas have come to life. It is like the mind is more focused, even though it is tired, after a full day of experiences. Equipped with hearing and seeing things throughout the day, creativity pours naturally late at night. Sometimes it happens during the day, but those usually end up being more happier tracks. Late at night, storms build, demons are let out, the village of wolves come out to play...as the soul feeds.

I can't say I'm creative, but my mindstate is pretty regularized.

I tend to say that altered states tend to enhance the music making experience - none the less sometimes I'll hear something and it will tweak my conciousness as is. Just that moment if you are writting something and it just sounds "special", and the air around you starts to solidify with an aura of intensity.

I've been finding I've been writting with intent more. My first couple years of writting were mostly just fooling around with sound trying to make something sound "good" with the odd thought popping into my head, an artist that the music reminds me of, or an idea to do something specific like reverse something. Very patchwork. Although it is still alot like that, I'm a lot more sound focused now. Where I'll get sounds in my mind, not audible but sentimental. Also I set out more often on doing themes now -eg. writting about a person or event. None the less I see it as a random crapshoot. Obviously the more you write the more you have as a background on your expereinces, what has worked and what hasn't.

I feel like writting at all different times, sometimes it will just be, I havn't written in X period of time, I should sit down see what I make. Other times I'll take a stint of a day or a week of straight writting cause I'm into it at the time.

It is fairly clear writting while high makes every note much more than it is. Although I cannot attest to partaking of narcotics. Even writting drunk gives a whole different feel. I tend to write sober.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing.

Mindstate and creativity are for noobs LOL. An analog synth, like a Virus Ti, and a Distressor are all you need. Deadmau5 uses them, so therefore you can't make decent music without them. Real pros have hardware, it's 20% creativity and 80% the quality of your gear. Also, you have to have your master at -8db, because Robert Babicz does that.

Look at you noobs, you don't know anything LOL.

Yah same here, night for creating, day/evenings for engineering.
