Really Noob Question

I haven't bought any mix compilation albums in awhile, and when I did it was always the physical cd from amazon... but now that I don't have any need for the disc I'm looking for a place to buy mix compilations (namely, Danny Howells' Renaissance Album) digitally. But I can't find anywhere that packages the album the way I want.

For instance, iTunes, where I've bought most music lately, has the album as two cd-length mixed tracks and then all of the individual tracks in unmixed format. So it's impossible to cue tracks, etc. And I don't really need the unmixed tracks since I don't dj or anything and probably wouldn't play most of them outside the compilation.

So my question is where can I (in the US) buy a dj's mixed compilation album without the hassle of looking for a cue sheet or mixing it all back together myself? Do I have to buy the physical disc and rip it to my computer?

I hadn't, but it doesn't seem to have that particular album... in fact, I'm finding it hard to search for mixed compilations there.

not sure but have you maybe tried beatport? many times you can download the mixed compilation + all the unmixed tracks for a flat price, usually cheaper than buying the hard copy.

or bittorrent?

Beatport gives it to you all as one track as well... it's also in this case more expensive than itunes and doesn't even give you the unmixed tracks as well.

As for bittorrent, I was hoping to be on the up and up and buy.

You should buy from wherever is the cheapest place, in this case iTunes. Then it really isn't that hard to find a cue sheet for it which you can burn to a virtual CD drive and then rip. This is how I split my own mixes into separate tracks for my friends that prefer them that way without burning them to a physical CD.

PM me if you need more help

virtual cd from cue and then rip? deplorable. We are nerds here. Use a cue joiner/splitter. No transcoding bullshit.

dude if i download mixes i would rather have them as one big file, pre-mixed. when they separate the tracks sometimes they fuck it up and when you join it there's a ms of silence between them

just get the whole thing and download a .cue file, lol

LOL. That is the only way I've found to avoid the annoying ms of silence that cue splitters usually add
