Which Software Is Great Working With VST or VSTI Plugins?

I've going back and forth about which software I should use for production. I currently have Reason 4.0 but Reason does not like any VST plug ins period only things like "Refills" So I am in market to get either Pro Tools or Ableton Live. My question is that does Pro Tools can enable various of VST Plug ins?

Thanks aheads

protools does not support VST protocol but the RTAS one, but you can use the ''wrapper FXPANSION VST TO RTAS''
this program converts your VST plug-in to RTAS protocol
but i'm not sure at all, i don't use Protools or any other host with RTAS

EDIT: i find this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsGoapdOlck

+1

I've just bought Cubase 5, and I'm lovin it. I've been stuck with the SX 3 version for quite some time. I'm really happy with the upgrade and I strongly recommend it! LOVE all the new functions/effects/synths etc.

Dude, not to be rude, but if you don't know that protools doesn't use VSTs, then I feel it's a sign that you need to do more research before spending a money on a sequencer, especially as pro tools works out rather expensive for even a basic setup.

If you're running a macbook, then go for logic pro. Ableton is fine too and so is cubase but having used all of them I'm most happy with Logic Pro - it comes with great synths and fx, and 8 is the best version of it yet - it just works so well.

Now, granted it does have a steeper learning curve that fruity loops, and maybe a tiny bit more than cubase (but that's highly debatable) but once you get in to it nothing else compares IMHO.

You can also pick up logic express for $199 or studio (all bells and whistles) for $499 - real bargains for what you get.

astonishing program given how it is made by one guy and if you really want to be a greedy prick, free

Makes you wonder why all the other programs are not light years ahead of what reaper does.

Your best bet is either Logic or Cubase.
Ableton has a very different interface and workflow (In a bad way if you ask me) and ProTools just sucks for EDM.

while reaper is really good i miss better included instruments and samples. u must have alot of vsts and samples yourself but i like daws that has alot to begin with. reaper seems to be perfect for recording etc though.
