renting out my stuff

I have 2 CDJ-800 MKII that I don't use often. I want to know the safe and best way to rent these out for some cash without getting jacked. any advice?

It's not practical. You'll get fleeced.

To prevent against damage you'll need to insure them. That will eat your profits.

To advertise you have them available will eat your profits.

It's just not going to happen for you. Might as well just sell em.

In other words, an EPIC FAIL.

As everyone else said. Don't do it - you can't rent them for that much and by the time you recoup what you spent, they'll be dead because someone will have done something to wreck them.

If you're not using them, then sell them and get cheaper CD decks

I rent my equipment but only to professional sound companies I worked with in the past. Never had a problem. I rent each CDJ for $50.

What Woody said - make sure you only rent to professional companies and make sure your T&Cs say that if any damage occurs the company renting from you is liable to pay the full replacement cost.

Or you could find a local rental company and see if they're interested in renting it out on your behalf - that way you could arrange it so it's all done under their insurance and you get a decent slab every time they rent it out to someone. Not gonna make much like that though.

Rental's something that, as people have said, isn't really worth doing on a small scale like that. If you've got some capital to invest and you're serious about it you might consider getting some more gear together and doing it properly (renting out whole rigs), but I get the feeling that's not the case from what you're saying.
