Web Hosting Services
Hey guys, I'm looking to get a web hosting service and was wondering if any of you guys could give me any first hand advice on the servers you are using.
I'm looking for a server with unlimited disk space (or at least reasonably large, 500GB+) and unlimited file transfers.

Most places that offer "unlimited space and bandwidth" usually are over selling their services and you will get crap performance from them.
That being said, Dreamhost has a lot of space and bandwidth and tons of cool features....
I'd recommend them. Having SSH access is pretty nice.

When it comes to hosting definitely don't look for what might seem like best bang for the buck. That is unless all you need is to simply store files without running PHP/MySQL. In that case opt for specialized solutions like DropBox.
Dreamhost is a good option. mediatemple if you want to be like the cool kids. slicehost if you know what you're doing.

Never liked mediatemple, clients hosted there have always had issues...
Slicehost is awesome. I use one of their servers as a shoutcast distribution server. It works out nicely.
If you're really 1337sk33t you'd use some of amazons web services like E3 and S3...

Thanks guys, what I want is to move my Wordpress.com blog to my own domain and run it using the Wordpress.org software. The reason I'm interested in something with unlimited hosting/file transfer is because I will be hosting a lot of sets.
I've been looking at some servers that work well with the Worpress software and so far Bluehost seems like a very good option, but that $9 sale from Dreamhost is fucking unreal...moreso since most of you seem to concur that it's the best host on the net.
