Joey Beltram began DJing in 1983 playing electro and hip hop. Today he is widely acknowledged as the leading innovator in the early development of underground dance music. His worldwide breakthrough came with the release of the techno classic “Energy Flash” which wrote a new chapter in the musical history books, swept dance floors worldwide and ushered in a new era of dance music. The Queens born and bred DJ and Producer had paved the way for the 90s electronica revolution which was championed by the lives of artists such as The Chemical Brothers and The Orb.
Since those early days Joey has released a steady flow of dance floor smashers on labels such as Harthouse, Tresor, Trax, Sony, V2, Transmat, Drumcode and his own imprint STX. He has also toured the world over, playing in over 30 different countries. This will be Joey’s second appearance for us at Footwork and only his second Toronto appearance in nearly a decade… and we’re excited as sh*t to have him!
