warranty questions (pssl.com warning)

never buy from these ****s. they don't hold their warranty coverage worth shit

i drove up to lawrence mass, approx. 2 hours away, dropped my xone 3d off for repair, guy was cool, goes "ya you're all set, will let you know when its repaired". so i wait a few days, he calls me saying "your mixer is repaired, but we have a problem, i called pssl.com and they said there is no such thing as a 5 year warranty, i can't give you this back unless you pay for the repair or confirm the warranty."

i'm just like...you said it's fine...

basically, i've called pssl.com dozen times this week, and they tell me they can't cover the warranty because the company went under due to the economy (their original warranty provider) so i tell her, listen, if you don't cover this repair, i have the bill in black and white, telling me that i fucking paid the price for that 5 year warranty, even says 5 years on the bill, if you don't cover it i'm taking this to court, and i will have it done one way or another.

"i'm sorry sir we've switched our providers"
"do you think i give a shit? my bill says 5 years, and thats what i expect, even if it comes out of YOUR pocket. i expect this done"

she started twisting words. so now i'm at a point where i'm thinking of going to a friend who's dad is a lawyer, and having him send out a statement to pssl.com saying that i'm filing a claim.

so heres the question:

if the bill says 5 Year Warranty, with the amount of money paid for the product, are they obligated to cover that repair even if the provider went under? i'm not going to pay 1.5k to repair this fucking thing. that's out of the question. if this doesn't progress to the point where i get my product warranty covered, should i take it to court? both for the cost of the product and court fees?

the worst part is www.pssl.com refuses to ever return my calls. this **** hasn't returned any of the messages i've left her. i'm getting so pissed i want to bomb the damn place

Warranties almost never get honoured (from my experience). It's fucking bullshit and pisses me the hell off.

I would definitely sue their asses.

warranties are only as good as the company that issues them. generally when a warranty company goes under, they announce which entity will be taking over as the guarantor of the warranty. you may want to do some research into that before you file a lawsuit.

This. Can't stress this enough. I work for a computer manufacturer, and have had warranty companies tell customers that they won't cover it for bullshit reasons.

Yeah, Jews on parade!

Warranty companies are similar to insurance companies: They will do anything in their power to avoid paying out. In essence, a warranty is insurance.

("Essence" is a sorely underutilized word)

Yep. I have seen them say there was water damage, but yet the moisture sticker is still white. So fucking dumb.

This is the primary reason why I almost never get warranties, and am in the process of saving up for two CDJs to replace my previous two that perished after the motor died of old age. Not worth the time, not worth the trouble, and for the amount it would cost me to repair them I can get brand new ones for only a little bit more.

Yeah, extended warranties on most things are fucking pointless. There is one I can say is worth it. Accidental damage warranties on laptops. They cover your busted screen.

Apple seems to hold true to their warranties as well, at least in my experience. When I purchased my laptop I was automatically covered for a year. Because I was a student at the time, they threw in a free iPod (which I otherwise wouldn't have purchased). It broke. Three times. Each time I took it back and was immediately given a new one. The final time was just two days before my warranty expired. They offered to renew my warranty for $60. I passed on it, and have had that very same iPod to this day.

*knocks on wood*
