sm room reverb with decay and early reflections set to less than 50ms, plus and an emphasis on eq'ing the bass will help make the drums feel bigger. lpf out the highs

Sounds like you have it on the kick. Never (well....99% of the time) don't put reverb on the kick. It ruins the clarity. |
I'm using a drum machine so I don't know really how to separate it. [well, I could load battery 3 a bunch of times, but meh] What I do is set a low cut in Reverb 2, right now I think 500hz and below is cut. But at the same time I don't want a dry sounding kick.

you could create a send fx with
lowpass at 1000hz
reverb with 100% mix
so that the frequencies below 1000hz are not calculated in the reverb

Reverb 2 Has a hipass and lowpass cut off. I guess I need to experiment more. I don't want the kick, or the low end in general, to be dry. So I need to find a way to reverb it without mudding it. Though maby processing the kick instead will let me give it an undry feeling. The issue is I don't want it to sound like there is literally a kick drum infront of you.

Hrm, Never thought about that, Reverb is usually the very last effect in the chain. I'll mess with an EQ after the Reverb.

Are you using reverb as an insert or a send?
Its a lot more versitile to use reverb on a send and just put an eq or filter after it. You are now just equalizing the reverb and not the initial sound. Although you probably already know this.

My EQ comes before my Reverb in the Mixer [vsti EQ] I don't use Sends. I could also have an EQ after the Reverb too. But most of the time I put it before.
