Presonus MP20 - Meter Question

Does anybody else own a presonus mp20? I have a question about the led meter on it. When recording vocals (or anything for that matter), where should the sound peak at on the led meter? Here is a picture of it:

What type of scale is this? It ranges from 24 (on the left side), to 28 (on the right side), with zero being in the middle. Something like this:

24 - 16 - 8 - 4 - 2 - 0 - 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 24 - 28

G G G G G G G G G G Y R

G = Green
Y = Yellow
R = Red

Should I adjust the gain so the sound peaks at the 24 in the yellow (just before it turns red), or should I adjust it so that it peaks just before the zero? Any help on this would be great, especially from people that have experience with this model or others like it.
