not really. but i like watching the visuals, that cliché repetitive clips of 1960s geezers dancing gets a smile in my face.

Whenever I go see a DJ spin I go for the music, not the usually corny and cliche videos some glorified geek is putting up on a bunch of plasma screens all over the place. Given, some are kinda good but I honestly couldn't care less.
Here in Guatemala, that shit is a monopoly. They always hire the same fucking guy to put up the DJ's name every 10 minutes with different backgrounds and animations. "I know what the dude's name is, thank you very much...I bought a fucking ticket to be in here".
Stepped in on a local DJ here in Denver that just played Big Trouble in Little China during his set one night. That was alright, cuz he wasn't a great DJ.

not really, unless you are really fucked up on E or acid or mushrooms, then some might be cool...and what's up with kid's bringing glowsticks and led lights to clubs? save that shit for raves or massives or the 18 and under crowd, unless you like getting laughed at behind your back all night long...
i'd say a vj makes a difference while you are there.
the morning after, while you recollecting the night, i doubt anyone remembers the vj. but while you're still on the dance floor, people notice. they won't say anything about it, but they'll think, "ooh trippy."
that being said, i'd rather fork over whatever minuscule amount of money it costs to hire a vj, than to not have one.

I kind of agree, but there was this one time I saw a guy who was actually pretty fucking good and did some crazzzyyy shit.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of people don't even realize there's a vj doing anything unless it's stated somewhere on a flyer (art show by someone, visuals by someone, feat. vj: whatever, etc). But this past Saturday some friends of mine were doing the visuals in the main room and it was pretty spectacular. The amount of work and thought that goes into what they do is unreal, just as much as a DJ it seems. I had no idea! My friend and her boyfriend were both doing visuals, and her boyfriend actually designed and programed a program for her to use that would essentially take a 15 second clip of her drawing, loop it into his computer and allow him to edit the clip to whatever. Crazy.
