Just a quick gallery since people FLOODED in like crazy quickly, pretty much giving me no room to get some people pics on the floor. Ah well, next week!

Anyway, as I said it get super packed since it's got the new club smell. Majority of the crowd are Hollywood types, so LOTS of hot girls.

Music is mostly the usual house everyone here is used to, but most of the Hollywood club scene is not...so with the combo of a new hot Hollywood club and the type of music that's played, it's probably the biggest bridge between the two scenes yet!

Of course since it gets pretty packed quickly, get there early..and I mean it! There was a huge line a half an hour before opening!

It looks sweet, but it looks kinda small. Awesome pix!

We tried going last night for a friends birthday. We where in line by 10:30 and that was a half hour to late.

At 11 they started holding the line and letting only bottle service in and or going threw the crowd and picking 2 people to go.
We decided to go to King King instead.

Makes me sad that I'm not around for this. Giant doing a new Hollywood night at a venue that people have been waiting a long time to see re-opened. Gotta say though, doesn't seem like my kinda crowd.

There is another area up the stairs to the back with another bar, chairs and DJ booth. Doubles as the smoking patio, so its similar to the Nacional second floor.

we were on that guestlist, and in line by 1020ish with a group of about 17 people. By 1040 they stopped letting people in, and random groups of people were allowed to be pushed through us in line and into the club. Completly disrespectful to everybody

It was very poorly run & disorganized, and the guy with the deepest voice in the world yelling "KEEP MOVING" out front, telling people they cant stand on a public sidewalk was a nice touch.

The crowd was a bunch of douchbags that obviously had little if any knowledge about club music and just wanted to show their face at the cool spot.

We got to the very front, and out of principle, and extreme whackness of the entire situation, we opted to walk over to king king and hand our money to compressions

A humbling reminder of just how pathetic the club scene in Hollywood really is

amen..I dislike when some of these clubs try to bust a "night at the rocksberry" exclusive attitude and mistreatment. Thats why I give mad props to the usual spot I go to which will remain unmentioned. Now as for this king king I need to go there since I haven't been.

basically Playhouse is a Hollywood club that on fridays will play commercial house music instead of the open format you hear at the other hollywood clubs.

everyone that i know that's been loved the place.... and these are people that go to Vanguard and Avalon regularly. a lot of the people that run Avalon were there checking the place out...

its not really appropriate to compare Playhouse to King King or Vanguard....very different target demo.... its closer to say Rain in Vegas or Mynt in South Beach.

i had advised everyone going to get there by 10pm and they all got in after a short wait... remember it was their 1st friday nite being open and only 3rd nite open total... you'd have to assume it would be slammed...it actually wasn't as bad as i expected it to be...the first nite so many people were there the cops literally shut down Hollywood Boulevard due to all the people in front of the venue.
