Ok... I have finished choosing my courses for the fall semester, but it has been a friggen nightmare. I couldn't get anything to work right (time-wise) and now I have 5 classes on Wednesday and 1 on Thursday!

Trust me, I swapped out classes, changed hours, even considered taking a Saturday class (didn't take it).

I am wondering what kind of tricks/tips you have for doing up your class scheduling. How do you get it all to work out?

*sigh*

LMAO! Thanks.

I didn't want to, but I had no other option if I was going to take the courses I wanted.

3 classes on Mon.
3 on Tues.
5 on Wed.
1 on Thurs.
3 on Fri.

For some reason, everything I want is going on on Wednesday.

There's not much you do can do, then. Just take the classes.

Also, go make me some iced tea. I'm getting thirsty.

Yea, I know that...

I am just wanting to know how other people organize their schedules. How do you pick it all out? What is your method in planning?

It's a combination of things. When I was an undergrad, I hated mornings more than a vampire did, so the most important thing for me was afternoon and night classes. Then came the other factors - required classes, electives, professors' reputations, and so on.

If classes began to conflict, I enrolled in the most important ones then and took the other ones at some later point. That being said, five classes in one day is stupid, but it's not impossible.

class 1: 10-11
class 2: 12-1
class 3: 2-3
class 4: 4-5
class 5: 6-9

It's a long shitty day, but it can be done.

That's sorta how I did it. Required first, optionals 2nd, timing 3rd (I don't mind being there too early but I'd prefer 9AM etc.). Timing is where I get screwed.

I printed out a weekly calendar with times and wrote everything out, then tried swapping things in and out, but had some troubles. I had to waitlist a tutorial because it was the only one that fit into the schedule.

Booerns.

im a horrible example but i just scheduled them whenever since i didnt go to most of them anyways. i would instead procrastinate and cram for assignments and exams. served me well!

first couple of years i had people that were ahead of me reserve spots in the classes. so when i could register, they would "drop" the class and i would "add" it. helped scheduling a lot. i only had one class at 0800 and that was my freshmen year.

and typically MW i had more classes than TR. labs were usually on TR.

all my meteorology classes in the last two years were in the afternoon (like 2, 3, 4pm). so on friday we'd get out of class at like 430-5pm and just go straight to the bars. LOL.

I am just picking 2 classes I need (English and Math) and a fun class to get in the swing of things. And to brush up on my German for future plans.

The following semester I will take on a heavier course load. 4 or 5 classes if I can.

My best semester was when I had all my classes on Tuesday and Thursday. 4 day weekend every week.
