Another "what synth is this?" Q

First of all I'd just like to say that you guys in the production studio are the most helpful group of individuals i've ever met, and i think that my productions have improved immensely within the past few months just from lurking around and reading everyone's advice. thanks.

so there's this synth that's used in just about every type of electronic music to some degree, and i still haven't been able to get it to sound right by fucking with presets. it's such a typical synth that i'm a little embarassed to ask what type it is, or at least how one would achieve the sound. it's the warm (detuned?) "electronic strings" style synth that's heard in these three samples.. they're often accompanied with a sweeping lowpass filter in certain spots to add dynamics to the track.

lovebirds synth sample 1, right click "save as"
lovebirds synth sample 3, right click "save as"

i would appreciate any input in the matter. also, am i right in thinking that these three synths are pretty much the same? or are they completely different?

Yeah, the first sample does sound FM-ish. But, I doubt that you'll be able to identify the synth, unless you or someone else happens to find the exact same preset. Those sounds can be generated by virtually any subtractive or FM synth.

BTW - I really like that 3rd clip - what track is that from?

2 and 3 sound very "Fender Rhodes". Classic, classic, classic sound in house music, though could definitely be some sort of FM variation either layered on top or masterfully recreated. Either way, I want to know how and I also want to know what the tracks are

It's VERY difficult to tell which synth is doing a particular sound. We can only give you tips to make a similar sound on any synth.

i took down sample 2 so i could upload my attempt

this is just using a stock setting in absynth and tweaking the effects a little bit, it's pretty close but not where i want it to be, created in FL studio, lol

deep housey fm sample?

any suggestions? it's just such an overused synth sound, i'm surprised there isn't a better stock preset out there

btw

sample 3 is "lovebirds - louder." there's a better example of the synth in the sample on beatport. the rest of the samples are as far as i know, unreleased. it's on the lovebirds - betalounge 2006 set, fantastic stuff on that mix.
