DJ Tiesto - Magik Journey

As you know there are two versions of this song, the Original and the Old School Trance Mix, being the Original a very uplifting track and the other a little harder. However it seems this was a big misunderstood and the Original is in fact the harder one, while the Old School Trance Mix is the uplifting one. At least it is like that in the 2 CDs UK version of In My Memory:

01) Magik Journey <---Harder
10) Magik Journey (Tiesto´s Old School Trance Mix) <---Uplifting

And I think the US version of the album also had Magik Journey (Original) as the harder one, so that´s it.

Anyway, can anyone confirm this?

The US got a shortened version of the original, UK got the full version and Japan got a shortened version on "In My Memory".

first its magikAL journey.....
at least mine is named like that and ive seen it writen like that many times..... lets just dont mind......
imo, the original is better, more punched. about what you asked, both are kind the same, being a bit hard, the difference stands in the fact that the trance old school mix contains added sounds and a strings part at the end that just kills the songs(so crappy) that i think dont transform the style of the song in an old school trance mix......... stick with the original its so much better especially when he spins it directly in your face at the end of his 4 hours set!
haaaaaaaaa great souvenirs........... itll be one month since he came in montreal on june 8 and it feels like it was last year.....
THIS SONG IS CRAZY!

Ok, ok, I think we´re not getting this straight. I already know there are two versions of the track and the differences between them (In fact there is a shitload of versions, but they´re just longer, shortened, or mislabeled versions of the 2 mixes, so there are 2 versions); the point here is not if you like one mix better than the other, let me put it simple:

The point here is that everyone thinks that the Original mix is the uplifting one, and the Old School Trance Mix the harder one; while the truth (what I´m asking a confirmation for) is that everyone could have the song mislabeled and this is the proof, please compare it with your version:

DJ TIESTO - IN MY MEMORY (UK EDITION)

CD 1 "The Originals":

01. Magik Journey [09:54]
02. Battleship Grey (Feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw) [05:06]
03. Dallas 4pm [06:43]
04. In My Memory (Feat. Nicola Hitchcock) [05:49]
05. Obsession [09:05]
06. Lethal Industry [06:42]
07. Flight 643 [09:01]
08. Suburban Train [10:20]
09. Close to You (Feat. Jan Johnston) [04:56]
10. Magik Journey (Tiesto´s Old School Trance Mix) [10:50]

In this album, the first song is the harder one and the last song is the uplifting version of Magik Journey, so the Original mix is actually the harder and the Old School Trance Mix is the very uplifting one.

You must be right then. It makes more sense that way, and plus, on each album (except UK edition) it just says Magik Journey; it doesnt specify what version. Even on the vinyl version it has them labeled as Original and Alternative, meaning that truly neither of them have any names, that they are both just Magik Journey. I guess on the UK Version he finally decided to identify them with names.

But really... who cares Magik Journey, Magik Journey (Original), Magik Journey (Tiesto Old Skool Trance Mix), or whatever you wanna call it is definately the best one

Noooooo... the classical outro is the BEST. I die.

Great, that´s what I wanted to hear, now it´s official.
And maybe it´s not so important, but as for me, my favorte song ever isn´t Magik Journey (Original Mix) anymore, but...

DJ Tiesto - Magik Journey (Tiesto´s Old School Trance Mix)

Ahem. As usual I stand as he final word on all things Tiesto.

The ORIGINAL version is the 11 minutes version. It has a vocal choir part in the middle. This is the one on the Dutch CD. This is the track labeled "Magik Journey (album)" on the Dutch 4x12" pack. Both of these released on Tiesto's label Black Hole/Magik Muzik. The Japanese CD had this version minus the outro (and a cut version of Suburban Train) to fit the bonus tracks.

The OTHER version is the 10 minutes version. It has no vocal portion but a harder beat and a cowbell sound in the middle. This is the one on the USA CD. This is the track labeled "Magik Journey (alternate)" on the Dutch 4x12" pack.

Now, taking into consieration that Black Hole is Tiesto's label, the 2 versions would be "officaly" be called album/alternate according to the vinyl package. SOOOO.. On the UK CD, the first track is the alternate (cowbell) version. The 10th track, inappropriately called "tiesto old skool trance mix" is the album (choir) version cut a little bit to fit on the CD.

As far as mp3s go. Forget about it, buy the fucking CD . Because most of them are mislabeled by certain groups trying to make an "exclusive" release.
