I wouldn't look for a DJ's setup, but maybe a friend's dad and use his hifi so u get better sound quality out of the playback. DJ setups tend to not have the best needles for this purpose...unless they spent money on nice gear all throughout and are using elliptical styli.

I don't know how great those USB turntables are.

They are ALL belt driven, which means that fluctuations in speed will get transferred to your digital recording. Highly annoying.

Best thing is to find someone with a Technics 1200, put on the rubber mat instead of a slipmat, use newish high quality styli, and record with the quartz lock enabled.

Another idea: look on Craigslist. I often see ads for such thing.

I can digitize your vinyl for the price of $1 per track. Send them over. How many records do you got?
