Know there are TV and Radio towers up there as it's the primary spot for all the big networks and stuff in LA, prob cell phone towers too!

the towers won't go down on account of because the fbi, cia, faa/lax and even fire command rely on them for communication. they will hammer that mountain with super scoopers until it's inflammable.

i hope all this wildfire shit is over by labor day weekend or slim chance i'm going to brave the poor air quality.

At a 4:30am press conference I was watching, they said it wasn't a matter of "if" but "when."

The way it is all they can really do is put down the fire retardant around it and hope that stops the fire because it'll be too dangerous for firefighters to be in that spot and they'll let it all go down rather than risk lives.

My guess is it won't burn either, but they made it sound like it prob screwed!

RIch I'm pretty sure we do not have super scopers right now.

Just a bunch of smaller props and that DC-10 that takes hours to replenish itself for 1 run.

All the antennas emergency services uses (from FBI to LAPD to Fire Services,etc) are up there too. Lots more to worry about than TV stations!

disaster response always seems to downplay their expectations and abilities to avoid backlash when things don't go as planned and to look good when they do, but the time, manpower and know-how are all there to protect that mountaintop so i would be very surprised if it sustains fire damage.

sucks about those firefighters that died though
