I’ve been doing “sampler” mixes so far but I do agree with your point. Every great track released has 1 or 2 awesome version(s) and them some not so good; that and some tracks are just barely decent. I usually rip all the “anthems” into a folder then I use the “passable” tracks as fillers in my mixes.
I too noticed that I’ve been kinda “cheap” lately in the use of the good stuff. Anyways, starting with the next mix there won’t be any fillers from now on (there’s always great new tracks being released so I don’t know why I’d need to be a miser in the first place). I just hope what I consider as “anthem quality” won’t be boring also.
