Music Festivals in South America

I want to plan a trip to somewhere in south/central America sometime between December - February. It would be awesome if I could plan the trip around a big music festival or event. If anyone knows of any good ones happening around those months, please let me know! thanks

Come on...

I mean if you compare them to festivals in Europe of course you will not have 2098402938402984029 people and their grandma show up. Everything is relative.

In Panama we had our version of the Winter Music Conference back in March and there were around 8-10k people throughout the event. Panama would most likely have the best scene in Central America.

Honduras also has the Sunjam in Utila but nothing but local DJs from around Central America show up. Of course that doesn't mean it can't be good but you can't really compare it to the magnitude of the Creamfields and other similar festivals that go down in Argentina and Brazil.

There have been some attempts to have somewhat big festivals here in Guatemala too but just like Sunjam it's nothing but local DJs and probably one semi-big name to use as a hook. Also, it's mostly psy DJs so I really don't have any interest in attending.

Which DJs performed in that festival you mentioned in Panama? I wouldn't go as far as saying that Panama has the best scene in Central America. I lived there for over 3 months in Panama City last year and the only parties that took place were with PvD and (LULZ) Outwork. If there's a place that's really above all the rest in CA it has to be Costa Rica.
