well well, were should i start, first of all i'd like to say hi to all fellow aussies on TA, ive been veiwing the site for about half a year now and have just recently decided to become a member due to that fact i went to the GU recording of Dave Seaman, for all of you guys who didn't go well, you missed out, Seaman rocked! Deep House was the order of the night, heh, he's got a sense of humour too....Michael Jackson - Billie Jean !? (For those of you who stayed right to the end will know what im talking about, i bet that won't make the cd;-)
anyway to the point (i type too much) the Goods shed is exactly what Melbourne needed, finally a location that holds 6000-7000 clubers and is actually permanent, not like the docklands....R.I.P
:-(
Just writing to see what the veiws of other melbournians are on the new location....like? dislike?
thanks........

Well good on ya mate,
I had to miss that one cause after the NYE Digweed didn't have the meanings to go another one (neither the energy I think i've seen a bill board or something that was going to be a DVD recording for the first time. Can you confirm that?
For the new venue; Goods Shed, nope i haven't been there yet! but hoping to pay a visit at the first opportunity. Is it allright? I mean i've been to all; Rod Laver; Olimpic Park, Cyral Castle, Vodafone Arena, the big shed next to the Rod Laver etc but haven't seen a place like DOCKLANDS Sheds. I'm gonna miss them i had the best times of me life. Hope the new place will be OK

Yeah, well I didn't think the sound quality was all that brilliant last night (kinda echoed and distorted if you weren't all that close to the speakers) but I'd certainly like to see it stay, because it is a very good venue for events like this one.
Any idea when they're tearing it down by the way? It's soon yeah? Kinda sucks seeing as they've made the docklands off limits too.....
They may even have to start opening QBH once in a while to accomodate some of these events.

yes tranceilvania there is gonna be a dvd recording of the event though i'm not sure if its actually the first one, i've heard two or three have been completed for other GU already, hope not, want melbourne to be the first.....someone tell me im wrong...
renegade, i totally agree with you on the sound quality of the night, but i think that was just because they only had the speakers on at the front of the shed, pretty disapointing.
i dont know when there tearing the docks down but i know its gonna suck if qbh is used agian, remember Paul Van Dyk....argghhh couldn't move!!!

gu dvd's
Discitelli, sadly melb won't be the first gu dvd. My friend has a nick warren gu dvd filmed in ibiza im pretty sure. You can get it from sanity dance arena's. Also from your profile tranceilvania you may be interested to know that d2k.dedserver.org has an astral proj set from the weekend recorded in tel aviv. I got half of it this morning so i can tell you what it's like tomorrow when i get the other half. The description said sound quality not the best but it's probably the closet we will get to hearing the astral's for a while anyhow.
As for docklands i only went to nye last year and thought it was a wicked venue apart from my girlfriend having to que up in the rain to go to the toilet and starting the new year with a cold. (shitty melb weather that night!)

Well, by now i think they've started to knock down the good old Sheds for good to build f@*kin seaside penthouses!!!
Anywayz i was at the docks for Welcome2002, I had the same problem that your Gf had; took me bloody 2 months to recover from that cold!
but it was well worth seeign Digweed spinning for a 4hr set. It was MAGIK...One of the best sets i've ever seen.
I know Sasha is coming down for a gig according to Stipsy's post but what i really wanna see is that those two LEGENDS spin together like they do often in overseas events (Twilo, L.A., NY, SanFransisco etc) That would be the ultimate for me. And off courze ASTRAL PROJECTION would be a real EXPLOSION. I don't know how many ppl like Goa-Trance but ASTRAL would kick some real ass

astrals
I was in perth and they didn't make it over there! I might start an email campaign and annoy them enough to come back out this year. Does that kind of thing work?

No stipsy i haven't seen them, infact i wasn't aware off that they've visited Australia at all! I dunno how i missed that one?Damn!!!
As for annoying them with e-mails etc to come back to Australia would only work if we adress those e-mails to the promoters such as Future Entartainment etc. If i'm not mistaken Stipsy has some contacts with the scene and he might be able to enlighten us regarding this subject
