A lot of the time the DJ is obligated to keep the name quiet by the labels/producers to create hype around a new track. Also, quality tracks are the bread and butter for a DJ to create and hold a unique sound. Pro DJ's aren't going to just want to let the masses know the name of their most recent signature track. With how disposable Dance music is, being able to use a particular track for as long as possible before everybody and their mom is playing it is crucial. Especially if it's one of 'those' tracks that seems to be the unanimous favorite from listeners of the mix/set.
Besides half the fun of listening to these sets is getting everyone together to slowly ID the tracks from it. |
