Anyone know of a good personal trainer?

This may come as a bit of a shocker to some of you, but apparently I'm not at my ideal weight. I'm not sure how this has happened, but I'm determined to fix the problem.

So....do any of you know of a good personal trainer who will come to my building a couple times a week? I've found several companies online that offer this service, but I was hoping to find an individual in the hopes that it may be cheaper?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You can be as smart as any personal trainer in a few hours. They don't have any magical powers. All they do is regurgitate information that they read in their training manual and follow the latest fitness trends and fads to make it seem like they have an information pipeline to the fitness gods.

The truth of the matter is this - a certified personal trainer needs to constantly introduce new exercises, equipment and advice to keep you paying! Most of the secrets they tell you are just common sense. Anyone who invests a few hours studying reliable and credible fitness information can be their own personal trainer.

A Typical Personal Trainers Advice...

· Eat small meals with protein and carbs
· Weight train between 2-4 times per week
· Do cardio 2-3 times a week
· Drink plenty of water
· Stop smoking - cut down on alcohol
· Reduce your fat intake
· Don't binge on sweets and cookies
· Keep a fitness journal
· Take a multivitamin
· Eat more protein

You know what my advice is to you? Use your head! Instead of forking over your hard earned money every week to a personal trainer, make an investment in yourself and get educated. Your investment will pay for itself 100 times over.

Just start eating more healthy food and smaller portions... and do some exercise a few times a week and you should be good. no need to pay someone $200/session to tell you that.

Agreed - I self motivate in every other area of my life - this is one where I get complacent if left to my own devices.
Whereabouts do you live Cam?

Yeah, I'm well aware of all those things as well (but thank you) but I want someone there to keep me motivated and on a routine. I'm so busy with work and djing that when I do have time it's hard to go hit the gym when I have several other thigns that i need to do. This I think will help me make it more a part of my schedule and keep me going. I am a pretty driven motivated person, but for some reason not when it comes to working out. Hopefully after several months it will become a habit and then I'll continue on my own.

The places I saw online were about $60-$70 a session, not $200 (I assume thats because it was a family). I am hoping to find someone a little cheaper, maybe that lives in my area, and cut out the company's take...
